LIVERPOOL 2 MAN UNITED 0: How did the Man United players fare

David De Gea

At the moment he is the 2^nd best keeper in the World (After Manuel Nuer that is).Produced at least 4 world class saves to keep the score respectable. Manchester United will struggle badly if he is not in goal. He proved that today. Could not keep away the penalty although he did get to touch the ball. Was also at no fault for the 2^nd goal.

Guille Varela

Struggled badly in the 1^st half but improved in the 2^nd. Was very clumsy when he received the ball and was easily shrugged off the ball on many occasions. Needs to toughen himself up.

Chris Smalling

Tried his best to lead the line. His positioning at times was suspect and at times he let Firmino and Sturridge loose pretty easily. Needs to stay focused and improve on his alertness of the ball as well.

Daley Blind

Once again produced a Bad performance at CB. Beaten when more pace is used, Shrugged aside easily by Firmino and Sturridge. Was not a help for Smalling in the heart of defense at all. Often left Smalling stranded on his own. Improved when moved to LB in the 2^nd half. That’s where he should remain.

Marcos Rojo

Clumsy at times with his tackles and was suspect with his positioning at times. Improved when he swapped positions with Daley Blind. Should start Regularly as a CB.

Morgan Schneiderlin

Ineffective in the middle of the park .However, he was not given much support by Fellaini who was really clumsy and often left him isolated. Was withdrawn for Carrick bizarrely .Fellaini should have gone instead.

Maraoune Fellaini

Will never be a proper football player. Was looking more like a beanpole running around like a headless chicken in the middle of the park. Did not perform one single interception cleanly. Did not hold up the Ball well and often left Schneirderlin Isolated in the middle of the park. Was lucky to stay on the field after some stupid challenges. Should not start another game for Man united.

Juan Mata

Innefective.Could not influence the game at all .Was shut down by Emre Can. Needs to be more physical

Anthony Martial

Lack of Desire and effort. Too many loose passes and over dribbling. Needs to learn a lot in terms of when to Dribble and when to take on his man.

Memphis Depay

Made one brilliant dribble and performed a subsequent pass that David Beckham would have been proud off .However the cross took Rashford by surprise and the chances was gone. Besides that glorious opportunity, he struggled to do anything in the game. Was culpable in conceding the penalty with a stupid tug on Clyne.

Marcus Rashford

Was not involved in the game at all. Played more as a RB and was given specific instructions to operate. I believe this kid has been held back by LVG.He needs to get on the ball and run with it. Was very clumsy with his first touches. Very clumsy performance. In Danger of becoming the next Macheda.

Michael Carrick

Came in for Rashford instead of Fellaini. Was responsible for Liverpool’s 2^nd Goal with a stupid casual clearance. But brought back ball possession to United.

Bastian Schweinsteiger

First match back from injury. Produced one good cross that Fellaini headed wide. Less time for him to influence proceedings.

Ander Herrera

Did what was told, which was to help out the attack. Minimal impact though.
